She created her blogging website in July of 2017 (www.expressionsofsho.com) to enlighten women on speaking out about damaging issues and situations that they don’t talk about. Encouraging and helping women to feel a sense of relief to know they are not alone in the battles they face daily. She will be releasing her first book “Unapologetically You” this summer!✨
I began writing short stories when I was 13 years old. My craft then shifted to writing about issues I was experiencing in my dysfunctional and challenging childhood. Writing became my escape and my sense of relief to express my thoughts and emotions onto paper – with the hopes that another young lady would read my feelings, and or experiences and she could get a sense of relief that she wasn’t alone. #ExpressionsOfSHOhelps women all overexpress themselves personally in ways they didn’t know how to do before. I absolutely love writing because I am able to write out silent truths from the unspoken woman, in the hopes that it helps another woman, one #expression at a time! I strive every day to be the woman that I didn’t have growing up!

Shaurice, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started writing short stories and poetry when I was about 13 years old. The writing was my release from my very different and dysfunctional childhood. It became my escape to write about the downside of being a middle child and often feeling lonely. As I got older, I began to take my writing more seriously and write about situations and challenges that we women had to face that were not pretty. In 2017, I created #ExpressionsOfSHO, which is a platform that aims the light and encourages women to talk about the unspoken truths that we face daily. I am a self-care advocate whose mission is for women to genuinely and intensely fall in love with themselves every day. #ExpressionsOfSHO gives me the relief to know that they are not alone in the battles they face, even when they have always thought that they were.
